Through the tireless outreach of Ashif Jahan and the logistical support of the GrowShare Capital team, we met with families across Gadsden, Tuscaloosa, Hoover, Bessemer, and Pelham. You asked for a way to access ethical, wholesale meat while keeping dollars in our local economy—and this co-op is the result.

How it works
Understanding the "Herd-Share"
A herd-share is a legal, time-tested way for communities to access high-quality meat without paying massive retail grocery markups.
Instead of buying individual steaks from a store, you and your neighbors are pooling your money to purchase live, grass-fed cattle directly from local farmers. Once the community hits the weight goal, the animal is purchased, humanely processed at our community facility, and the meat is divided among the shareholders based on their initial commitment.
Legal Notice: We are not a retail meat vendor. By participating, you are joining a private purchasing group to secure wholesale, at-cost pricing exclusively for the community.
Reserve Your Share
Commit to a poundage amount (e.g. 10 lbs, 20 lbs). No payment is required to join the waitlist.
We Hit the Goal
Once the community reserves enough pounds to buy a full animal, the herd is purchased.
Pay & Pick Up
You receive a final invoice (0% card fees via Zelle) and pick up your share at the local distribution point.

Vision for the Future
Scaling Our Infrastructure
While we currently source our livestock directly through local Alabama farmers, our ultimate goal is complete agricultural self-reliance. By securing the land and infrastructure to directly raise our own cattle, pasture-raised poultry, and lamb, we will completely remove the middleman and permanently lower the cost of high-quality food for the community.
